Oh, Bennett

Bennett discovered the computer recently. Even more recently, he discovered photobooth. This can occupy quite a bit of our time (we have close to 100 pictures). Below are some lovely pictures Bennett has taken of himself, along with some recent quotes of his (they have nothing to do with each other... just imagine this silly boy in the pictures saying them)
"Mommy, I wuv you too"

"Here's the deal" (this said with his pointer finger pointing)

"I do dis for just a minute" (usually before bedtime in hopes of staying up later)

"Dat's my favorite one" (could refer to a toy, a food or even an ear... yes, an ear, he has a favorite ear)

"No, I not a baby, I'n a big boy"

"No, I not goin to do dat" (this is usually followed with a stern warning that he best change his attitude)

" Dat's real fun!"

"Huggie, I need a mommy huggie"

Just a few more from my silly, talkative boy:

"You happy now, mommy" (this being said after bringing me a cough drop to stop my coughing)

"I alllll done" (pushing himself away from the table, ready to go play)

"You feel better now?" (after giving a hug/kiss)

December Recap, Part 2

Bennett LOVED Christmas morning. He was very excited that Santa brought him Adigo (Diego) and Wonderpets. Bill and I enjoyed spending the day with both of our families.
A couple of days after Christmas, we got to visit with Larissa, Lily, and Anna Reid. Despite Bennett's expression, we had a blast!
At the end of December, we said goodbye to a long time friend, Bop Bop. Bennett has done really well, but if I am honest, it makes me a little sad that my little man is growing up!!

Little Visitor

So, in the middle of the night last night, I heard a door slam. It sounded like Bill's bathroom door and I just past it off to the heat turning on (CLEARLY I was not fully awake~ the heat/air has NEVER closed a door in our house). I go back to sleep and the next thing I know, I hear someone shuffling around our dark room. I sit up... and see a little head bobbing around.

Bennett slept for most of the night in his big boy bed. I guess he woke up and rather than call out, he decided he was big enough to just waltz into mommy and daddy's room and not say a word.

This morning, I realized the slamming door was the door to his bedroom.

A December Recap

It was a busy month

On December 5th we welcome Zoe Annabelle Hazlewood into the world. This is my 5th niece, 4th from my brother

Bennett had a ball visiting his cousins. He also got into the full swing of Christmas spirit. We had a elf; his name was "Oakey" (Bill and I have yet to figure out where this name came from).

Bennett got a battle scar from a wrapping paper roll. (Those paper tubes aren't as gentle as one would think~ especially when being shot like an arrow). He thoroughly enjoyed showing people what Mommy did to him.

Bennett got sick for a LONG week. (I think this may have come before the battle scar) He did not have the flu, but a HIGH fever virus that stayed for a whole week.

We met baby Lee and baby Molly (with moms Meredith and Anna) for brunch.
*I will update with more later. I need to get the pictures added :)

Random Tidbits

So, eventually, I will probably post a very long post about our very busy December, but today is not that day :)

I decided that with the new year, I would revamp the blog. I think it turned out pretty cute. It is called "Blog in a box" and can be found here . It is really easy and gives you all the instructions.

I don't really "do" New Year's Resolutions. Maybe I should. If I did, they would probably be along these lines:
1. Get my house super organized. A place for everything and everything in its place.
2. Get on a Great schedule- by this I mean, a schedule for keeping the house in order. (a laundry schedule, a cleaning schedule, those type things~ any suggestions on this would be great)
3. Finish my Bennett to do list: Big boy Bed and Potty train (we are on day 4 of no Bop-bop and he has done really well) Also, last night he slept for part of the night in his big boy bed
4. Start Working out~ I don't really want to lose weight, just want to be tone. I used to have muscle, now I just have cellulite.... not the most attractive thing in the world.
5. Work some overtime and pay off debt (this is not likely to happen as I don't really have time to work overtime and when I do, I much prefer to spend time with my boys)
6. Work even more overtime and deck out the house~ okay, so this is really me just dreaming of my wood floors, granite counter tops, revamped bathrooms. It is SO not happening.

I know, those are random and likely not to happen. I am hopeful that I can actually do #3. Bennett needs to be potty trained and moved to big boy bed this year I think.

So, instead of New Year's Resolutions, I am hopeful that I can spend more time with my family and focus on/be thankful for what I do have. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways and this year, I wanted to thank Him daily for that.

This will be the verse I want to live by~ 1 Corinthians 15:58
"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

BIG NEWS!!!

As of tonight we are "Bop-Bop" Free!! Bennett got to pick out a new toy and trade in his bop-bop. We threw away the bop-bop after we got home.... he hasn't asked for his "bop-bop" but he has stated multiple times that he wants "sumpting" (something). Hopefully, this will be a smooth process.

**Update** Well, the process is not going as smooth as I was hoping. 2am last night, I was woken up with cries for "bop bop." Oh, how I wanted to give in and have a peaceful night, but I did not. This morning was a bit better; we woke up wanting it, but manage to be distratcted by the car and Daddy (who is home today)
